The t...I remember going there just after it closed. The train for the Comet was at the bottom of the first drop out of the station. I took pictures of my children sitting in the train as if it was going! We walked the entire track and what was so unique the the last hill of the ride was the longest and steepest. It was so unusual to see the chain lift for the LAST hill into the station! The shelters are rented for private parties. The dance pavilion is rented for wedding receptions, big band and school dances. Although there are no longer rides available the park remains a functional facility. I believe the old chimney is what is left of Billy Glenn's home. He was a peanut and popcorn vendor at the park and in downtown New Castle.
